City of Toledo is the capital city of province Toledo and of autonomous community Castille La Mancha. It is situated 70 km south of Madrid and occupies a hill on a loop in the River Tagus.

Toledo was former capital of Spain. It`s peak period was as the "city of the three cultures" between 11th and 13th centuries. This was a time when Christian, Muslim and Jewish communities not only coexisted but flourished. Toledo became the richest Spanish city north of Cordoba, and Sephardic Jews in particular consider the Toledo of that time a pinnacle of Jewish culture.

Nowadays Toledo is declared a World Heritage City by Unesco for its cultural and monumental heritage and over 100 historic buildings and sights.
