Municipality of Mao (known also as Mahón or Port Mahon), is the capital city of the Balearic Island of Minorca. The town is located in the eastern part of the island.

Maó has a millennial history that saw its origins in a headland on the southern side of the port. The different architectural features and monuments of the city reveal traces of the various nations that have passed through the island.

One of the most spectacular and magical places on the island of Menorca is port of Mahon. It is the second deepest natural harbour in the world, 5 km long and up to 900m wide.
