The archipelago is situated near the eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula. The largest islands are: Majorca, Minorca, Ibiza, and Formentera. All of them are popular tourist destinations.
The capital city of the autonomous community and province of Balearic Islands is Palma also know as Palma de Mallorca.
