municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Santa Cruz de Tenerife (a.k.a. Santa Cruz) is the capital of province Santa Cruz de Tenerife and shared with (Las Palma) capital of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands. The city is located in the northeast part of island Tenerife, about 210 kilometres away from the northwestern coast of the Africa within the Atlantic Ocean.
The climate is Subtropical - warm dry summers and moderately warm winters. The average annual temperature is 21 °C
Santa Cruz is popular travel destination and a melting pot of diverse cultures, that give it a cosmopolitan character. Despite this fact the city has not an intense night life (in contrast to the nearby university town of San Cristóbal de La Laguna with which Santa Cruz is physically linked), but there are several clubs and pubs spread across the town (mainly in the Marina park area).
