municipality of IbizaIbiza is one of the most popular places to party in the Balearic Islands. It's a tiny island lying 90 kms of the east coast of Spain. It forms part of the Balearic Islands along with Mallorca, Menorca and Formentera. Although called Ibiza in Spanish, its official Catalan name is Eivissa and its inhabitants call it Vila d'Eivissa or simply Vila. The island is only 45 kms wide and 25 kms long, and is well known for having spectacular beaches and crystal clear waters. The summer here seems endless. It officially runs from the 1st of May till the 31st of October, but in winter we get bright sunny days most of the time as well. Ibiza is very popular tourist destinations for travellers from both mainland Spain and the rest of Europe. When visiting Ibiza Town you will first be drawn to the Sa Penya and Sa Marina districts near the port. These areas overlooking the harbour are full of smart restaurants and trendy boutiques. Their unique shops make these districts one of the most popular shopping areas on the island. The old town (Dalt Vila) is a town-within-a-town and is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage City. On top of Dalt Vila there's the cathedral of Santa Maria d'Eivissa (14th century). Ibiza also has some of the best nightclubs in the world. Two of the island's most luxurious nightclubs, Pacha and El Divino, are located in Ibiza Town itself whereas Space is located just south of the town, near the airport.
